Daily Garden 042 – Modern Stinson Beach – Blasen Landscape Architecture.

Summer is here and I officially feel like being at the beach. So when I came across this modern beach garden by Blasen landscape Architecture, I was hooked. This firms beautiful portfolio also contains some stunning more traditional gardens but this simple relaxing scene with the flowing grasses and modern buildings that have barn detailing are completely relaxing to me.

Mike & Marissa’s Plants

Sedge lawns to Save the Planet

Sedge lawns are a smart environmental alternative to traditional lawns.  Sedges are close botanical cousins of the conventional grasses that make up traditional lawns but they require little or no mowing, fertilizing, or chemicals.  Some also require less water than many conventional turf grasses or if dealing with a wet area, are more tolerant of…

Weekend Things

We had fun this week making final harvests.   (is your garden still producing…ours is really winding down fast!). Our little lawn tractor trailer is full of every kind of melon, squash and pumpkin you can imagine (and there was more than just this!).   If I have some extra time this weekend I am…
