Daily Garden: Pallets for A Community Wall Garden

I love this quick project (using free pallets and a little stain!) that transformed an ugly industrial wall….

Inspired by this garden by Stacy K Floral:

and this garden By Fern at Life on the Balcony :

David Walrod  of Urban Dirt, created this garden:

Charming right?  And that wall looks so much better now don’t you think?

This garden was real a community effort…After the property owner initially contacted Jan at  Two Women and a Hoe (who BTW is in Michigan)  — she reached out to the Urban Dirt Team who came through with the design, labor, and materials (which were ultimately donated by  David Walrod of the Urban Dirt Show, and The California Cactus Center). (oh the magic of the internet to make a project happen!!)

Daily Garden: Cinderblock Planters

Do you remember a post here I that make a couple months ago about using stacked cinder blocks to make a vertical planter?….you can re-visit it here. I remember thinking as I wrote, how easy it would be to make a more refined version (in fact I think I said that in the post) —…

Before & After Garden: Serenity’s Bird Garden

What a difference a path makes! Aiming to make a garden for birds and wildlife, Christy Scerra and Hannah Taylor of Serenity Gardens in Tacoma, Washington added paths, plants, baths and tiny houses all to make feathered friends feel more welcome.   This is one of those projects that looks great now, but will clearly look…

Egyptian Gardens

Given current events, and the way my mind works, I typed “Egyptian Gardens” into google this morning.  Interestingly I discovered something I was previously unaware of — and which will certainly be something I am looking forward to knowing more about. There is a style of laying out a garden as well as an uniquely…
