Daily Garden: Pallets for A Community Wall Garden

I love this quick project (using free pallets and a little stain!) that transformed an ugly industrial wall….

Inspired by this garden by Stacy K Floral:

and this garden By Fern at Life on the Balcony :

David Walrod  of Urban Dirt, created this garden:

Charming right?  And that wall looks so much better now don’t you think?

This garden was real a community effort…After the property owner initially contacted Jan at  Two Women and a Hoe (who BTW is in Michigan)  — she reached out to the Urban Dirt Team who came through with the design, labor, and materials (which were ultimately donated by  David Walrod of the Urban Dirt Show, and The California Cactus Center). (oh the magic of the internet to make a project happen!!)

Moles, Voles, Grubs & and Japanese Beetles – An Organic Pest Smackdown

I’ve got troubles and I have to admit I feel a little silly that it has taken me so long to sort them out. I’ll start at the beginning.  Two springs ago my front lawn didn’t come back after the winter.  And not only was it completely dead, it felt funny to walk over (weirdly squishy…

Before & After: April’s Bean Tunnel

Before & After: April’s Bean Tunnel

I found this really sweet bean tunnel over the winter and I’ve been dying to make one of my own ever since! April from Wahsega Valley Farm has an incredible backyard vegetable garden, and as soon as I saw this bare garden structure, I knew it would be a even cooler once the vines started to…

Garden Tool Organization Idea

What a great idea for garden storage!  I can picture it in my (desperately in need of some TLC) garden shed.  My garden to do list down the side and each of the drawers handily labeled with the tools, seeds, and other garden implements that they contain.   All I need is a cheap dresser and…
