Is this a great design trend emerging?  I love that I am seeing more and more projects where designers are throwing out the old notion of a simple path from the driveway or sidewalk to the front door and instead re-imagining the front garden into something completely new, more functional and complimentary to the architecture.

This home was designed by architect/owner Mark Kirkhart, founder and principal of DesignArc, Inc. and  is located in Montecito’s “Hedge Row” district.

The back garden is just as stunning as the front.  I love the bold move with the concrete wall and the pool that is built into the hill side such that it has a sitting edge along one side is genius.
