Oxalis: More Than A Lucky Shamrock

Happy St. Patricks Day!   In the spirit of the day, I thought I would try to give you some apropos Oxalis inspiration.  I remember the very common oxalis that grew in our front  lawn when I was a kids….sitting for what seemed like  hours trying to find a four leafed version.  But did you know that there are actually a lot of other really exciting and interesting varieties of clover?  They have pretty leaf color, interesting shapes and flowers and are really great ground cover. Here are some lesser known varieties:

    My fave is the Oxalis triangularis, being a sucker for purple. I did have one but stupidly left it out in the garden when I should have brought it in as a houseplant. I’ll definitely have to find a new one now for sure.
