As part of Minus Six Degrees, Japan’s nationwide movement to reduce CO2 emissions, Sake brewer Toshimaya made over their 1970’s drab sterile building to be more carbon and earthquake friendly.
The effort, which included this rooftop garden, has paid off, with staff inspired to do more to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and think about environmental issues like how the company uses water and rice.
The Japanese styled garden now provides a place for employees and visitors to relax.
