Before & After Garden: Daniel’s Steep Hillside Garden

4/08/2010

I have one more before and after for you today….this one was built at the bottom of a steeply sloping garden. The house sits above and there are lots of stairs to get to the bottom.  I am impressed with the challenge this must have been to imagine the stepped path to get to the bottom.  It certainly makes you look at the garden slightly differently when faced with type of challenge.

The transformation is impressive and even looks interesting and exciting from the aerial view — witch is probably their living room.   You can see more of Daniel’s Makeover here.

Beautiful job coping with slope. Wonder what the drainage issues were.
(apologizing for illness related snarky mood )
Sometimes it seems weird that so much landscaping is for seating areas. The last thing I need in my life is more sitting or eating. Why not more exercise things- chin up bars, sit up inclines? On the other hand, the stairs count.

  2. Susan says:

Wow, I have a steep slope and was wondering what landscaper did this incredible job? This looks like a California planting, is this where it is?

Love to know the name of the designer.
