Roliquery is a word that artist Amy Brier created to describe her sculpture. She creates beautiful balls with carved features that when rolled in soft sand, create patterns and new sculpture.
The stone pieces are stunning works of sculpture, but the resin versions are an attractive and affordable way to enjoy this interactive art. I think these would wonderful additions to a child’s sandbox, a meditative garden, or perhaps a new twist on a dry Japanese garden.
Amy has expanded her product vocabulary — Roliquerist – one who exhibits them, Roliquerium – its special sandbox, Roliqueried,-ing – the act of using, Roliquerian – An enthusiast.
