THOMAS LEO OGREN, a former teacher, farmer and nurseryman, is a horticulturist and allergy researcher who has spent 30 years exploring the strong connections between modern landscaping and urban allergies and asthma. Ogren is the author of seven published books and hundreds of articles in publications such as Scientific American, the New York Times, Der Spiegel and Earth Island Journal.
