I have had the most up and down crazy ride of a week. Maybe it was a March thing (in like a lion, out like a lamb) or just karma realizing that I didn’t totally deserve the crummy beginning and so is trying to make it up to me. I have a project (which I have decided to write about –more later) that has been an unmitigated disaster…mostly…I am optimistic that it will all turn out alright in the end, but the stress of it all has at times been so consuming, that I have felt unable to start new projects and combined with all the other bleak world news, I have had wallowing moments.
Studio ‘g’ has been the great thing that has snapped me out of those bleak moments… This site has this way of of feeding my eternal optimism. This week has been full of crazy traffic (every bloggers obsession), contacts from people I have huge respect for, opportunities and doors opening for exciting and new projects. I am feeling more creatively alive than I ever have before in my career and blame it on all the bad things that fill the news. I have blogged about this strange upshot before, but I don’t think I am alone here. I read this morning about a great new project started by another designer (I believe designers, artists and creative people will save the world) that I want to share….its called the bright side project. The site was created by Tristan Shout Brando and her goal is to remind people that there is still goodness in this crazy world.
Here’s how it works: Every day there will be a question posed by a designer. One lucky reader with a creative answer will win a creation from said designer. The queries are intended to get people thinking on the bright side. (Think, “How do you define internal peace? or if you had all the time in the world, what would you do with it?”). I feel the mood spreading. The prizes are well worth the time to answer and the answers are well worth the time to think about them.
I encourage you to head over and feel better.
Thank you!!!! I will make sure to include your beautiful mention in our upcoming ‘thank you kindly’ post!!!
Kisses,
Miss B.
