Watering plants is really the only downside (to me) to growing lots of things.  If you don’t find it meditative, it can really be a chore.  And if you forget just one time, you can seriously kill something.  Plant trays are the key to success for both inside and outside plants.  They hold water and allow you to water from the bottom up rather than the top down.  Generally they are cheap ugly little plastic trays — they do the job but don’t add visually.

So these plant trays that are actually a beautiful design feature are a revelation.  They are from Swedish company Offecct.  Though I am not sure if they are available in the US, they are essentially the same thing as a Moroccan tray tea table (google ‘moroccan tray table’ on an image search and you choices will be many).  These types of tables can be had relatively inexpensively. I love the look and the added functionality of being an attractive water tray.
