A few years ago, Shanade and her husband decided that their backyard was getting a little out of hand. Because their yard is fairly large, simplifying was definitely at the top of their list. With some pre-planning and the help of a landscaping company, they transplanted a few shrubs to make room for their new ideas.

corner, fence, trees, new grass, backyard

After removing lots of small trees and shrubs and laying grass, they really cleaned up that back corner! I generally take sides with the “get rid of the grass” mindset but I think that the addition really works here. The couple has 4 kids so the extra space paired with less maintenance on a garden is huge. I especially love that pretty tree-lined fence- the purple flowers are gorgeous! Anyway, what do you guys think? How are your spring cleanups progressing? –erin
