Without my husband, the soundtrack of my life would either not exist or be filled solely with simplistic drivel that I lazily picked up on a top 40 radio channel. But with his influence, things are much more interesting – I am regularly introduced to new and thoughtful artists and sublime songs.
I am so thankful for him bring this gift to me (even if it means that I am constantly turning down the radio in the car). I am working on getting him to be a more regular guest here (again) but until then, I want to share one his most recent finds. It seems the perfect song for this Thanksgiving Holiday. The song is called Homecoming – and it is by Josh Ritter from his album, Sermon on the Rocks . You can listen to it below.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend with you loved ones.
Happy Thanksgiving!
I feel a change in the weather,
I feel a change in me,
The days are getting shorter and the birds begin to leave,
Even me, yes, yes, y’all,
Who has been so long alone,
I’m headed home,
Headed home…
I’m a huge music “freak,” but didn’t know Josh Ritter. He tells a story that’s meaningful, sweet and uplifting. Kind of rare these days. Brenda
