Weld, grind, sweat, repeat. Weld, grind, sweat, repeat.
Can I introduce you to Brandon Williams who is a custom metal artist in downtown Phoenix AZ? He has created modfire which is a vented dual-wall (which means that that outer skin stays cool even while a fire rages inside) garden fireplace. It’s a very clever design at a size that is perfect for both large and small gardens. Each is handmade, it stands 48” tall and 22″ wide, and comes in a variety of colors, customizable to your preference.

I love it!! Now if I only had a Richard Neutra home in Palm Springs or even his LA houses, I would be set. I can’t tell you enough how amazing this blog is! You have an amazing eye for style and design! Have a great week!
totally groovy. in the right space, it could be the perfect, functional focal point!
looks great so I ordered 1, it turned into a rusted heap of metal within 1 week.
seller also has decided not to respond to repeated attempts to resolve the fact that he sold us a defective product
I would like to apologize to Tim publicly as we have done privately. No one should have a poor experience when purchasing a Modfire. We don’t blame him one bit for being upset. We blew it in responding to his correspondence, and we are sorry for that. We are a small company experiencing rapid growth and got a bit behind in our communications, but our customers deserve – and will receive – better.
Like any company, we sometimes experience issues in the manufacturing process – particularly since human beings craft our products. We’re perfectionists but we’re not always perfect. A blackened steel patina is a technical, multi-step process and if any step is not followed exactly, you get flash rusting as was the case here. We don’t consider this to be normal or acceptable results.
We take our customer relationships very seriously and stand behind each of our products. We are, of course, replacing Tim’s defective Modfire with another model. We will work hard to insure that this customer – and every customer – is satisfied with their Modfire experience. If you have any questions about our product quality or our commitment to customer satisfaction, please contact me directly by phone or email.
