Did you guys see these two posts I wrote over at Apartment Therapy and Re-nest this week? They both discuss some of the trends that seem to be emerging from the Chelsea Flower Show….. I’d love to know what you think are some of the trends from the show….

I think the wildflower trend is a nice one, but a bit overdone this year maybe? Having said that, the history of wildflowers in the garden and piece about William Robbinson earlier this week on the BBC coverage was very interesting and made it obvious that it is not really a new thing.
It was also interesting to see that the “colour of Chelsea” this year is blue, which personally I hadn’t noticed until they showed the montage of amazing blue flowers. The B&Q vertical garden caused a bit of a debate with me and th missis as she seemed to think it was a good idea while I was arguing that it is more style over substance. I’d like to be proven wrong though.
Always fascinating to see the varied uses of materials each year at the Chelsea Show. Thanks for posting your ‘take’ on the trends. Nigels swoopy stone wall with insect homes is such a nice detail. Would like to use that for an interested client. I wonder if stinging critters would want to nest there tho..how close to human living space do we want it? Great textures though.
The video of Cleve in France with the sculptors of his columns was cool. Hmm , lots to ponder.
