I have spent a big part of my Sunday morning drooling over images of all sorts of great garden designers and styists…I am not sure how I am going to make it to spring when I will be able to revivie some of the projects that remain undone around here (think treehouse, deck, barn painting, barn floor, lots of planting…..etc. etc. etc.) but now I have some new ideas that I am eager to work into exisiting plans.
The ideas I have been pouring over come largely from other magazines like Garden Design, House Beautiful, old Dominos and lots of others. I am persuing not just for my own personal enjoyment but also because I am happily helping out Gretchen Aubuchon, a friend, who is launching a new website next year called Fashiondecor.com. It is a familiar twist on something that I have done here before, so to contribute as a garden editor to her site is easy and fun. The idea is to pair fashion to home decor to inspire dressing our homes as we would dress ourselves. Cool right?
Here is one of Gretchen’s pairings….
and here are a couple of mine…..
(you had to know that I would pick something in orange right?)
and this one ….
I would kinda kill for that dress, so it follows that I might do the same for that garden….
The Fashion Decor idea is fun don’t you think? And here is the even better part, Gretchen is going to cover some garden related fashion for the next issue of Leaf Magazine….so if you like this, you’re gonna love that.

I love orange too!
I really like the image of the outdoor fire place. It almost reminds me of a minimalist type garden – interesting but simple and uncluttered.
