Filled with ideas, this garden was inspired by the International Festival of Gardens in Chaumont, France (of course, why else do you go to these wonderful events if not to bring back a few ideas?).

In response to her visit to Chaumont, Renny Ramakers (We’ve talked about her before)  the founder of Droog, commissioned Corinne Détroyat and Claude Pasquer  to create something that mixed art and nature in the garden for the Droog Hotel in Amsterdam.renny ramakers garden for droog

Each sculpture has a function. The Woodstockchair is both a design chair and a reserve for wood logs and a shelter for insects. The Graines de Pluie © gives height to this garden, that is surrounded on all sides by buildings, and it serves as a nesting box and bird feeder. Here, as in Chaumont-sur-Loire, you feel fairy tail fantasy of childhood.

Panels on the side walls hide nasty spots of construction and to support the mirrors.  The mirrors reflects the sun onto shady places and they give many others points of view.
