I live outside of Boston, though I can’t say I am really a Red Sox fan – I hope my neighbors won’t make me leave for saying so. At least I am not a Yankees fan. But there is another reason (at least for me) to pay some of the highest ticket prices in baseball and that is to see the art of David Mellor, the head groundskeeper for Fenway. His work is featured in “Picture Perfect: Mowing Techniques for Lawns, Landscapes, and Sports”

David started the trend to make patterns in sports fields, but it is also practiced in home gardens, hotels, academic institutes, golf courses, raceways, farms and fields, and what about those mysterious ancient crop circles?
