I want to send out a big congratulations to Chris Heiler over at Landscape Leadership for recently completing his book for landscape pros.  He set an aggressive goal to get this written and ready for all of us – completing it in just a few short months – and he achieved it.

If you don’t know about Landscape Leadership , you ought to check it out.  Chris is a wealth of knowledge about building a successful design business and he is sharing his own knowledge as well as that of lots of other successful pros.

Also, Chris has a few exciting events coming up — I have added them to the Studio ‘g’ calendar, but here is a quick run down.

Chis and Andrew at Land8 Lounge are hosting a webinar on Thursday, January 7th, called CAD Showcase 2010.  Its free and you can participate from the comfort of your own home or office. Three of the top CAD software companies will be demonstrating their software and it is a great was  for you to  compare the benefits of each.  These will not be “sales” driven presentations.  The companies participating are Vectorworks, DynaSCAPE and Land F/X.
You can get more information about the event by reading the press release here and you can sign up here.

In January, Chris is also scheduling a teleseminar with Jody Shilan.  The topics will be based on the results of this survey.  If you are interested (the last one like this had over 400 attendees) fill out the survey and watch at LandscapeLeadership.com for more details about the date and time. (and I will add them to the calendar too when they are available)

  1. James A-S says:

“…crush your competition” doesn’t. on the face of it, sound terribly friendly!
Surely the joy of being a Gardener is that one does not have to stamp on people.
We’re gardeners, not bankers or estate agents.

  2. Chris Heiler says:

Thanks for posting Rochelle. I always appreciate the help.

I appreciate the comment James, it’s not the first like it. “Separate yourself from the competition” didn’t sound quite as good as “crush”. It’s more about separating yourself and being different.
