Intriguing new design always captures my attention, I am wondering if this will add to the joy of sitting in the garden in the rain, or compeltely detract (I am guessing the later) but I would certainly like to give it a try to see how different the rain can sound.
Designed by Dong Min Park, the Rain Drum features mounted sound inputs on the exterior of an umbrella top that make different drum noises when raindrops touch it. The shade of the umbrella contains five wax-cloth made coverings with varying elasticities to create a range of tones and frequencies, depending on the size and speed of the falling rain drop.

Way cool! Love to see it in an umbrella table version!
