I am so excited about the out of the box thinking of Mass Hort. I had posted earlier about the Blooms exhibit which will take the place of the New England Spring Flower show in Office tower lobbies around the Rose Kennedy Greenway in Boston. What I didn’t realize was that there is an additional piece that will take place in 3 local area malls (chestnut hill, prudential center and atrium). Exhibitors are going to put displays on in the malls, and vendors will hold seminars and traditional flower show events in empty store spaces. Many malls around here unfortunately have plenty of space so it seems to me like it could turn out to be a win for everyone and great exposure for the horticultural community. It is all free and the hope is that mall patrons who may not have attended the flower show will be drawn into the events. Turnout for the event is a big unknown…but I think it has such potential and is such a good way of making lemonade from lemons. Maybe this is a long term way forward.
This event will surely showcase adorable and beautiful flower collections. Thanks for the link.Very interesting.
