Piles of Apple Crates (still in use by the orchard) live across the road from my house….I love the way they look.  It something about their time worn quality and their continued ability to do the job they are meant for.   An orchard on the other side of the world (Victoria, Australia) is recognizing the value of these boxes and is selling them for vegetable gardening….for cheap.  If you are in Australia….check them out…or if like me, you live near an orchard, perhaps you might want to inquire about a reuse project…
