This garden – in it’s utter wild simplicity – is really inspiring me today. The styling of the patio is effortless seeming but totally unique. Instead of a BBQ, there is a cauldron cooker, the boat house details in the lighting and the simplicity of bare silvered spruce wood apaired with white canvas, rope and animal hides to soften is serene, Norwegian and beautiful. It is a palette that I think is easy to copy and re-create for beautiful Scandinavian garden style.

Spare comes to mind when I see this practical design. There is something to be said for no clutter.
After spending a month in Allesund in Norway, I relate to these boathouses which I saw are used for picnics and parties as well as boat storeage.
Now I see just how perfect they are for small cottages. These in the photos however look like reproductions, as they are too well built – however I would love to own one.
