Hi — How are you?
I am home and I’m quietly trying to slide back into a routine of daily writing. I’ve been back for a few days now and have happily spent the time getting the to-do list that I secretly created while away all checked off (all those things I forgot to do before I left!). That, and weeding the garden (that went out of control while I was gone) — but now I’m getting all set.
More than anything, I am trying to savor the last of the summer. It always feels like summer is essentially over once I have returned from a summer vacation — regardless of the fact that there are 50+ official days left. I can’t help but feel the need to squeeze everything I can in what time is left. Do you feel the same? Have you taken a summer break yet? I would love to hear about it.
In the mean time, I thought I would share a tiny bit of what we did. It largely involved a van (named Foxy) that was painted very Charley Harper-ish (if you ask me), that we lived in while we trekked through 7 National Parks and Monuments, and a handful of state parks all through northern California and Oregon. Then I followed it up with a quick trip to Martha’s Vineyard with some of my best girl friends and their kids. Here is a peek at our fun.
I would love to know were some of these pictures were taken! I think I know the view of the last.. I live in WA ; ) But were did you come a across so many deer and that milky, blue little pool. So pretty!
Oh No — I thought I put descriptions on all of them….will go back and add that. The two that you mention thought — the milky blue water is part of the springs and thermal waters that are at the end of the Bumpass Hell trail at Lassen National Park and the other image is of Roosevelt Elk in the coastal marsh (whoever thought to see Elk in the ocean?!?) of Redwoods National Park.
Beautiful pictures!
Beautiful pictures! I really like that place!
