It maybe quite cold (and getting colder) where you are.   But on the flip side of the planet, gardening season is just getting started.   I have been charmed by the work of The Little Veggie Patch before, but now they are taking their apple crate planters and turning them into a community garden with a twist. Turning urban, allotment style gardening into a social and learning club is not only a clever and helpful idea, but I also think that it is wonderful that growing and tending is, through this project, part of the community glue.
