The morning holds a dull and rainy sky here in south central Wisconsin. But I’m okay with it….mid June and I haven’t had to water a single time this year! The gardens are looking pretty spectacular so far and while I could pull on my rain jacket and go move a few plants I think I’d rather stay in and blog. I found this great front yard makeover this morning and I was really excited that it included some beautiful landscaping stone. I’m waiting for 3000 lbs of limestone to be delivered so I’ve been lusting over any and all types of retaining walls. This one takes first prize for today.
Stella decided that she didn’t want anything to do with grass, so instead she opted to build up her small city plot with a variety of wall stone called “Earth Rainbow.” She researched retaining wall construction before she got started so there wouldn’t be any surprises after all her hard work, and once it was all complete, a few hostas and grasses were added alongside a new hydrangea. She finished it off with a rich, brown mulch and called it a day. I love a simple makeover that’s as high-impact as this one. Nice job, Stella! –erin
