I found this makeover last night over on The Comforts of Home, and as soon as I saw this big, patchy area of grass, I knew the project would be worthy of a before & after post. Penny lives in North Carolina and has been working on her home since she moved in. A few summers ago she decided to tackle the backyard, and this is what she came up with:
A cozy place to gather with friends and family, partially shaded from the sun and lit up at night. She loves boxwoods and water fountains so she used them to make a charming focal point on the edge of the path. I love the huge structure and the flagstone patio beneath, and I also like how she saved a little cash by using gravel as part of her patio as well. This photo makes me want a pergola in my own yard now…haha, like I don’t already have enough dreams for my house. Someday. But anyway- nice job, Penny! It looks fantastic. –erin
