Small slices of green, terrariums and indoor gardens can make the most overwhelming of city spaces breathable and calm. Cathryn Barmon a NYC bases artist was inspired on a trip to Japan by the contrast of Japanese metropolis’ and the tidy countryside of pruned trees, rocks, and moss she saw outside train windows. The inspiration has manifested itself in to the creation of tiny dioramas. Her work has recently been commissioned by luxury travel agency Artisans of Leisure and I think can help many commercial spaces grasp at the garden that maybe they don’t really have the real estate for.
