Daily Garden: Azucar Hotel, Veracruz, Mexico

11/03/2010

azucar mexico resort veracruz

It has been too long since I featured a hospitality garden.  Gardens and beautiful landscape destinations are something I am trying to get back to writing about more….so first up is Azucar, the design hotel in Veracruz Mexico.   There are so many inspirations to take from the grounds of this beautiful hotel.

Like the color scheme of the outdoor fabrics (primary color madras plaid with bubble gum pink!?! — and it works…)….

…or perhaps and outdoor library (biblioteca)? — maybe only in certain climates….

Or even steal small details like the pull shower with the drift wood handle and the galvanized bucket for holding shower accessories or for maybe for rinsing swimsuits.

This is a place that is absolutely on my dream destination list….What are you seeing that is inspiring?

This looks like it has just been constructed and planted. I wouldnt call coconut palms and bouganvillea an interesting landscape. I think the designers missed out on a great opportunity to showcase the exotic and beautiful plants of the veracruz region.
