Before & After: Shephard’s Vibrant Los Angeles Hang Out

side yard, before, bright, los angeles, shephard's alley, remake,

I am so in love with this before & after and super excited to share it with you guys! Yes- this photo is really the before shot and when I saw it over on Shephard’s blog, I thought maybe I missed the before photo. I mean, come on…how often do you come across a yard that’s already awesome transition into something even more spectacular? Hardly ever. It’s usually old cracked patios or crunchy dead grass or gardens that are beyond parched being made over. Not yards that already have a sweet path snaking through plush, vibrant plantings, leading back towards a cute little corner shed. But, if you’re ready for it, click through to see what this space looks like after the renovation.

side yard, los angeles, california, after, makeover, glass rocks, wood, fence, bench, hangout,

Yeah….pretty sweet, isn’t it? I really like how that ocean blue fire glass makes the area feel cool and serene, and that wrap-around bench is amazing. But really, everything about it is fantastic, and it even looks relatively easy to maintain. If this was my place, I’d be out there sipping mojitos and listening to music with friends just about every night. Check out the rest of the yard over at Shephard’s blog. The water and lighting features are pretty impressive. -erin

Wow! Thanks! Welcome!

This week has been a wild one and I want to thank you all for it. As a blogger it is most satisfying to know that people are interested in hearing what you have to say and, even better, engaging in the conversation. I feel like this week might go down in the Studio ‘g’…

Cutting Garden Inspiration – Marigolds and Tomatoes

Cutting Garden Inspiration – Marigolds and Tomatoes

I have been meaning to share this arrangement for days now – but it (once again) has been one of those kind of weeks. The Green Dandelion designed this and it has me planning to rip up some grass to plant huge rows of rare marigolds that we can use in similar farmers market arrangements later…
