I found myself over at Melissa Brandman’s photography blog a few weeks ago while I was scouting for great before & after. 20 minutes later and I was lost in a sea of gorgeous photos. Eventually I remembered that I was only there for the front yard makeover google had brought me to. Needless to say, I’ve been back to her blog a few more times since then– one of the best parts, and biggest time sweepers, about combing the internet for a great before and after is that I end up coming across a lot of pretty amazing people. And most of the time, these amazing people have done some pretty inspiring outdoor projects. Take this front yard for example; what was once a flat and lifeless stretch of landscape has been stirred into a yard that’s lively and welcoming.

Lots of plants, shrubs and trees now line the perimeter of the driveway and soften the feel of the front yard. A path was added and a fence was installed to the right of the house as well. I really like the repetition in plants and the interesting trees, as well as the curved border that gives more flow to the left of the yard. I’d love to see this house in 10 years from now, when the trees and plants have matured. Lovely job, Melissa- it really feels like a whole new house! -erin
