I just came across this post at the OC register about Garden drapes. I love them myself, but as Cindy McNatt points out, outdoor fabric can be quite expensive. Her solution, hospital sheets! This girl is clever. She found them at www.bhmedwear.com for 80$ per DOZEN and with the addition of clips and wire, she has quite a garden feature. Ok, so they will only last a couple seasons, but after that, you can use them to make Halloween ghosts, or to rake leaves onto in the fall, or as drop cloths, or furniture covers, or I can go on…
I was actually quite sad to see Cindy’s blog discontinued at the end of last year, but for more of her clever ideas you can find her now at the OC Register’s Home and Garden Website.
really pretty !
Those are great – and cheap! I have some outdoor curtains – made from outdoor fabric found at a discount fabric store. The patterns were basically Sunbrella knock-offs. They’ve been up for three years and still look great–so spending good money would have them outlasting cheap ones–making them a good deal too.
What a great idea…the image is so perfect!
