My first thought when I saw these was “Those aren’t Pillows” — (one of my all time favorite  and most quotable movies – Planes, Trains, and Automobiles)

Nope, they are aren’t what they seem, but what they are is pretty amazing re-creations of beautiful bits of nature that you can put on top of a cake….and then eat.

I’ve got a little reputation for going all out on birthday cakes, and to be honest, I would not have thought twice about putting real acorns or leaves on top of a cake (if the mood struck) but I am sure that there is a collective sigh of relief from my guests that I haven’t (yet).   But now I don’t have to thanks to Andie’s Specialty Sweets on Etsy.  She has created all sorts of made to order garden delectables.   I’m looking forward to a little cake top landscaping with the help of these.
