I am fascinated by this garden, I think, because it is so completely different from what you would find near where I live (New England). From the architecture of the house, to materials, the plants…all of it. But I think it is a very interesting and exciting design that has lots of ideas to learn from no matter where you garden.
Like this, moss patch thing….I kind of love it. I was at the nursery yesterday and nearly bought a whole flat of scotch moss just because….well, I like to touch it….I put it back after a moment (and one last feel)…thinking more clearly about the fact that I don’t currently have a place for it. (but am pondering where I might create one).
The Stone sculpture must have been the patient work of a talented artist. The stone fits together so well and while I am sure that there is a pole up the middle of each stack…I always enjoy the tension of something that seems to defy gravity.
This garden feature faces the side of the house. I am sure it is a focal point from inside and it is really interesting.
Welcome mailman! The level of thought and detail that went into this whole design is extraordinary. This is the mailbox….planted charmingly with some cute little cacti. Click through to some of the other images…some were taken later in the evening and you can get a great sense of the interesting landscape lighting that makes the garden come alive in a whole new way at dusk. What interesting design point are you noticing about this garden?
