Etsy – the easy to love, but impossible to find what you are looking for website, just re-entered my life. I took the Taste Test and suddenly I no longer see a whole lotta junk I don’t like. I am still playing, but had to take a quick break to share this. ‘Taste Test‘ seems like it works pretty good.
I grew up all western. Men in my family (not my husband) wear cowboy hats everyday (because they work cows for a living). I own wranglers (that I haven’t worn in 20 years) in a variety of colors. I have belts that have my name on them and shiny silver buckles to compliment. And now I know what to do with these relics that I can can’t throw away. I think I might NEED this chair.
Though to make it myself, I think I would find it very tempting to spray the frame with Antique brown metallic paint (I have a can of this for my house to touch up all my door knobs). I find something very design-y cool about this. And it speaks to my roots in a way I can love. What about you?
You can buy this chair or a similar original from kikithespunkymunkey on etsy.
Oh and this caught my eye too….
my kids would love to make this for me…(recycled bowling ball and marble garden sphere by TaDahpdx)

A lil’ on the late side, but thanks for the shout out on my western belt lawn chair! I love to recycle/upcycle/thrift/create, so sometimes things like the chair just happen lol. I also use the scraps from the belts to make some pretty snappy looking cuff bracelets…also sold on Etsy…http://www.etsy.com/listing/46675723/vintage-leather-western-belt-upcycled – And since you’ve seen the chair (1 1/2 yrs ago!!!!) I’ve re-woven the seats of vintage ladderback chairs with thrifted Guatemalan belts 🙂 Thanks again for the kind words and sharing the chair! Lori aka kikithespunkymunky
